Field Service Engineer

Helsinki

Join an industry leader in laboratory instrumentation with an immediate opening for a Field Service Engineer in Finland. Being an established company with products that has been consistently improved over decades, they are able to offer both strong internal training program as well as plenty of autonomy for their field-based employees.

Thus, you will be up and running quickly and have the freedom to plan your own travelling schedule. In other words, no need to spend 3 nights on the road each week just because someone told you to.

With that said, the role is of course field based and do require travelling and often on a daily basis. With the majority of the client somewhere around Helsinki, Turku and Tampere, it would be ideal if you are located in this area if you wish to minimise the overnight stays.

You will also be cooperating with multiple colleagues in both Finland and the rest of the Nordics. So you are not the only service engineer and will have other people to exchange ideas with. The local Finnish office is based in Helsinki.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering technical support to customers in Finland, with very occasional support to other Nordic Countries.
  • Conduct maintenance, calibration, and repair of lab and process instruments used in multiple industries with R&D, Manufacturing and QC functions requiring laboratory testing.
  • Providing prompt and effective telephone support to customers.
  • Conducting training to customers on instruments.
  • Supporting sales efforts by promoting service contracts. You also have the opportunity to earn referral bonuses through any sales as a result.

Requirements:

  • Technical background with mechanics or electronics. The exact industry matters less but the instruments you would work with are a mix of mechanical and electronical components.
  • Basic software troubleshooting and support. No need to be an IT-wizard but the instruments contain software which has to be installed and sometimes troubleshot.
  • Fluency in Finnish and English
  • Ability to work in the field and travel as needed. This may vary from week, which could mean up to 3 nights away during one week and 0 nights on others. You are free to plan you own schedule though, based on the customers that require service.

If you’re ready to take on an exciting challenge and or simply want more information, you can apply by submitting your application and CV in English (no need to be fully updated).
