A Danish Start-up Dedicated to the Black Swans of Life Science
Founded in June 2020, Black Swans Exist is the first Danish recruitment company dedicated solely to recruitment within the Life Science sector.
Amid a pandemic and during a global lockdown, our Co-Founder and Managing Director Per Christensen saw a gap in the Danish recruitment industry. From it, rose the idea of a company that met the exceedingly demanding and competitive requirements of the Life Science sector. Specialized in one segment and service, we concentrate on the problem-solving process of identifying rare, specialized, and extraordinary talent in Life Science.
This is the process we have dubbed The Black Swan Problem. As it turned out, our type of targeted service was in high demand. One man’s idea of a start-up quickly grew into a team of employees and continues to expand both in numbers and on scale.
Where Does Our Name Come From?
Our name stems from the famous philosophical Black Swan Theory which says that “all swans I have seen are white, and, therefore, all swans must be white”. Yet, the philosophy teaches us that with the eventual discovery of Black Swans, this theory proved false. We believe in finding the Black Swans of Life Science. By looking beyond the obvious, we identify extraordinary candidates.
The Black Swan philosophy motivates us in every action that we do and is a constant promise to do better; Not only when identifying extraordinary talents for our clients but when looking for our future colleagues as well. We make no exceptions in our Black Swan search process. We know how to find and develop the team members that others can’t attract and we continue to prove that Black Swans exist.
Why Life Science?
Black Swans Exist emerged from the belief that the Life Science industry deserves a specialized recruitment service. We became — and still are — one of the first Danish recruitment companies to focus exclusively on Life Science and recruitment.
By providing our support and development to the recruitment of talented individuals of Life Science, we want to play a part in changing the healthcare system for the better by connecting the right candidates with the right companies. We take great pride in making a small difference in a massive, pivotal industry and, ultimately, hope to contribute to making the world a better place. We are not only great at what we do; we also have a genuine passion for the Life Science sector.
